Dallas County 4-H will be hosting two open houses during the first week of October, in honor of National 4-H Week. During this time, families are invited to learn more about what 4-H has to offer for youth in fourth through twelfth grade. Kids in kindergarten through third grade may join 4-H Clover Kids, a program that allows them to experience 4-H through cooperative, non-competitive learning. Community members who are interested in leading a 4-H club are also encouraged to attend. The first event will take place on Mon., Oct. 3 at the Waukee Community Center, and the second will be held on Tues., Oct. 4 at the Adel Library. Both events will run from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., and guests are welcome to come and go as they please. Dallas County Extension 4-H staff, 4-H leaders and 4-H members will be on hand to answer questions. Refreshments will be served, and there will be an opportunity for families to register their youth for 4-H onsite.
